  1. Within the understanding of this biblical context in God’s love and grace, my response is as follows;

    約 翰 福 音 John
8:2 Early in the morning he came to the temple courts again. All the people came to him, and he sat down and began to teach them. 8:3 The experts in the law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught committing adultery. They made her stand in front of them 8:4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery. 8:5 In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death such women. What then do you say?” 8:6 (Now they were asking this in an attempt to trap him, so that they could bring charges against him.) Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger. – Jesus may write, “ Love mercy ” or “love and mercy”

8:7 When they persisted in asking him (this implies Jesus is keeping on writing on ground, - – Jesus may write, “not sin” or “Sin and darkness”), he stood up straight and replied, “Whoever among you is guiltless may be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8:8 Then he bent over again and wrote on the ground. – Jesus may write, “righteous and holiness”

8:9 Now when they heard this, they began to drift away one at a time, starting with the older ones, until Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 8:10 Jesus stood up straight (Jesus has not gone away as other sinful people. Jesus is God and Jesus is son of Man and the only Man who does not sin at all. Jesus is 100% righteously qualified to condemn and judge on the adultery woman according to the Law of God.) and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 8:11 She replied, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.” – Jesus knows according to the Law of God, the adultery woman is entitled to stone punishment to death because the result of sin is death. But, Lord Jesus does not exercise the right and power of judgement in Law. Jesus does not implement and exercise His Authority of Judgement as the Son of God. Instead, Jesus gives His Love and Mercy onto the woman and advises her in the other way very kindly, totally opposite to the way of judgement in righteous i.e. way of mercy in God’s love – gives the adultery woman the second chance and reminds her not to sin anymore.

From this, now, we know, the loving God gives us lots of chance to let us to continue to live in flesh of sin, rebelling God and acting against God (when we do not know, understand and believe in God), but still, God is calling us back to His Sheepfold. When Jesus comes to the world in two thousands years ago, Jesus is not the judge of law but the life saviour for the world. The main purpose of Jesus as life savour is to save the world and therefore, Jesus is the light of the world who comes to save all sinful people from the darkness and have the light of life.

Jesus as the Light of the World
8:12 Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

In the end, in front of the righteous Son of God, Jesus Christ, standing straight before her, the adultery woman knows Jesus is the Lord who saves her life from the immediate death of stone punishment for her sin of adultery.

Then, we should not forget the amazing grace of the God that we have received from the loving God as we are all saved by Jesus Christ from our sinful life.

    Peter.
