  1. When we are rich with great amount of money and assets, we would think of investment, especially, we wish to build on more wealth on top of the original investment, which should not be devalued as time goes.

In reality of life on earth, no investment can be guaranteed or last forever without deteriorating and even end up with nothing. The recent global financial tsunami and failure of national economy in Iceland and Greek bankruptcy proves that no asset can be safeguarded with no risk or complete collapse. Money in financial instruments can be lost substantially in a matter of few seconds like an empty dream.

For the uncertainty of earthly wealth, the Bible has told us very clearly, it is just like dust:

    Mathew
6:19 Make no store of wealth for yourselves on earth, where it may be turned to dust by worms and weather, and where thieves may come in by force and take it away.
6:20 But make a store for yourselves in heaven, where it will not be turned to dust and where thieves do not come in to take it away:

However, if we believe we have wealth in the Heaven and we are willing to invest into heavenly wealth, the investment can last forever and will not deteriorate like those on earth.

Jesus Christ also tells us how a young and rich millionaire would like to have eternal life for his future. He is very clever to know that only richness and property on earth is not enough for his future, eternal life is good and wise investment. So, he goes for it.

However, the answer from Jesus Christ really upsets him, saying, “If you have a desire to be complete, go, get money for your property, and give it to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven: and come after me.”

    馬 太 福 音 Matthew
19:16 And one came to him and said, Master, what good thing have I to do, so that I may have eternal life?
19:17 And he said to him, Why are you questioning me about what is good? One there is who is good: but if you have a desire to go into life, keep the rules of the law.
19:20 The young man says to him, All these things have I done: what more is there?
19:21 Jesus said to him, If you have a desire to be complete, go, get money for your property, and give it to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven: and come after me.
19:22 But hearing these words the young man went away sorrowing: for he had much property.
19:23 And Jesus said to his disciples, Truly I say to you, It is hard for a man with much money to go into the kingdom of heaven.
19:24 And again I say to you, It is simpler for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a man with much money to go into the kingdom of God.
19:25 And the disciples, hearing this, were greatly surprised, saying, Who then may have salvation?
19:26 And Jesus, looking at them, said, With men this is not possible; but with God all things are possible.
19:27 Then Peter said to him, See, we have given up everything and have come after you; what then will we have?
19:28 And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that in the time when all things are made new, and the Son of man is seated in his glory, you who have come after me will be seated on twelve seats, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
19:29 And everyone who has given up houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or child, or land, for my name, will be given a hundred times as much, and have eternal life.
19:30 But a great number who are first will be last, and some who are last will be first.

Therefore, according to Jesus, the best strategy for future everlasting investment is:
“Give up all earthly property sharing them with the poor and following Jesus for the rest of the life.”

    What it means is:
    1. Sharing all our wealth and what we have on earth is to convert our earthly asset into heaven wealth and value
    2. Following Jesus is to get the heavenly bonus and reward from the God when we walk and work for Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven which is recognised and praised by the God in the Heaven.

  2. This question had come to me once. Therefore numerous thought came across my heart.

The main point is:" Can we give up the most favourite thing because of Him? Is His work our first priority? "
